How to Make a Summer Gimlet Cocktail

A Step-by-Step Guide to Crafting the Ultimate Serve.

A perfect spring and summer accompaniment, this Gimlet is refreshing, pleasantly aromatic, and bursting with fresh flavour. Lemongrass and ginger-infused gin provides a fragrant, spiced backbone, while muddled blueberries add natural sweetness and colour. Fresh cucumber and ginger bring a cooling, crisp edge, and a touch of mint rounds the whole serve off with a fresh, herbaceous lift. Light, vibrant, and effortlessly drinkable, exactly what a great Gimlet should be on a warm afternoon.

Story behind the Serve

The Gimlet has a naval history dating back to the 19th century, when British sailors mixed gin with lime juice to help stave off scurvy on long voyages, the origin of the classic gin and lime pairing that defines the cocktail to this day. This version takes that foundation and builds something altogether more aromatic, leaning on lemongrass and ginger-infused gin alongside fresh blueberries, cucumber, and mint. The result is a Gimlet that feels distinctly seasonal; bright, fragrant, and built for long spring and summer afternoons.
