How to Make a Watermelon Martini Cocktail

A Step-by-Step Guide to Crafting the Ultimate Serve.

A watermelon martini served in a coupe glass garnished with a fresh basil leaf

A vibrant, summer-ready martini that's become one of our most requested serves, the Watermelon Martini is proof that bold flavour and elegant presentation can absolutely coexist. Crisp Tanqueray gin, orange-laced Cointreau, and fresh watermelon juice come together in vivid balance, sweet, fragrant, and effortlessly refreshing. A touch of aquafaba brings a silky texture and a beautifully frothy top, giving this serve real cocktail bar theatre. Equally at home at a summer garden party or a stylish evening reception, this is the kind of drink that draws a crowd to the bar the moment it's poured.

Story behind the Serve

The Watermelon Martini belongs to a wave of modern fruit-forward martinis that emerged as bartenders began reworking the classic format around fresh, seasonal produce rather than relying solely on spirit and vermouth. Built on the same logic as a classic Sour, spirit, citrus liqueur, fresh fruit, it takes the clean botanical backbone of a great gin and lets vibrant watermelon take centre stage. What isn't in question is its staying power on our menu. Get the balance right, use genuinely fresh watermelon, and it's hard to improve on.
