How to Make a Spicy Passionfruit Margarita

A Step-by-Step Guide to Crafting the Ultimate Serve.

A spicy passionfruit margarita served over ice in a rocks glass garnished with a purple and white edible flower and a half passionfruit

A brighter, sweeter take on the classic Margarita, this modern twist brings tropical passionfruit and a subtle kick of red chilli to one of the world's most-loved tequila cocktails. Blanco tequila provides a clean, crisp base, while fresh passionfruit purée adds natural sweetness and a beautifully vivid colour. A touch of red chilli builds slowly in the background, giving the serve a fruity, slightly spiced edge without overwhelming the palate. An elegant choice for any party at home, finished with a delicate edible flower for a touch of garden-fresh charm.

Base Spirit: Tequila Blanco

Flavour Profile: Fruity, citrusy, lightly spiced, vibrant

Story behind the Serve

This serve brings the classic Margarita—tequila, citrus, sweetness—and gives it a tropical, modern twist. Passionfruit is a favourite in cocktails today, loved for its natural tang and sweet aroma, which goes wonderfully with the fresh, green notes of a good blanco tequila. The red chilli adds a fun twist, fitting into the growing trend of ‘swicy’ flavours, combining sweet and spicy for a complex and warming experience that keeps people coming back for more. It’s bright, balanced and just a bit different.
